The Ambassador and the Minister of Public Health of Thailand paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan

On 23 February 2017 H.E. Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag and H.E. Dr. Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn, Minister of Public Health of Thailand, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Yasuhisa Shiozaki, Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan during his visit between 22-25 February 2017.
Both sides exchanged views and opinions on cooperation in health management and universal health coverage. So far, Thailand and Japan have been cooperating in health issues and will develop Thailand to be the center of learning in the region in health management and universal health coverage. In addition, the Ambassador reiterated the readiness to cooperate with H.E. Mr. Shiozaki as the Chairman of the Japan-Thailand Parliamentarians' Friendship League to celebrate the 130 year Japan – Thailand Diplomatic Relations.
The Minister of Public Health and the board of the National Health Security Office (NHSO) went to Japan to study about the universal health coverage management system at the invitation of JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency).
