The Ambassador attended the founding ceremony of the MinebeaMitsumiCo., Ltd.

On 20 April 2017, H.E. Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag attended the founding ceremony ofthe MinebeaMitsumi Co., Ltd. The company is a merger of Minebea Co., Ltd. and Mitsumi Co., Ltd. The ceremony was held at the Imperial Hotel, Tokyo and the invitation was extended by Mr. Yoshihisa Kainuma, President and CEO of the company. More than 1,000 attendees joined the event. The merger is aimed at increasing the efficiency of the business as a combined endeavor. Minebea specialized in the manufacture of precision mechanical parts, while Mitsumi specialized in electronic parts. The new company is currently developing equipment for future devices such as robotics and health and medical care equipment as well as the development of smart cities. Both companies have been major investors in Thailand and have been well supported by the BOI.
