On 2 June 2018, H.E. Mr. Bansarn Bunnag, the Ambassador of Thailand to Tokyo presided over the opening ceremony of the 14th Thai Festival in Nagoya, held between 2-3 June 2018, at the Edion Hisaya Plaza (Hisaya-Odori Park) by Yamamori Co., Ltd., a major Thai curry manufacturer in Japan, with the support of Aichi Prefecture and Nagoya Municipality. The Mayor of Nagoya City, the Honorary Consul General of Nagoya, and the representatives from Nagoya and neighboring prefectures, as well as the Thai delegates also joined the event. The Thai Festival in Nagoya is a part of the Thai Festival in Japan which is held annually. The main purpose is to promote Thai food to be widely recognized among the Japanese, and it is also an opportunity to spread Thai culture which is performed on stage. The Royal Thai Embassy hosted a special exhibition“Thailand 4.0 - the future is here” in order to provide interesting information about Thailand’s future development plans which will be focusing on the development of innovation and the promotion of regional relations. There will also be the advertisement of Thai fruits such as mango, durian, mangosteen and banana from the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, and Thailand travel guiding activities from the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Osaka Office as well. In addition, the Royal Thai Embassy also provided mobile consular services regarding the passport, family registration, legislation and labor counseling services at the Kowa Building, Nagoya, where many Thai people living in Nagoya and nearby areas came to use the services.
