Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak visited Mie Prefecture in order to promote the cooperation between Thailand and Japanese locals

On 18 – 19 July 2018, Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag accompanied the delegation of Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak to visit Mie Prefecture in order to strengthen the cooperation between Thailand and Japanese locals. Mie Prefecture arranged cooperative frameworks with Thai organizations including the BOI and the Ministry of Industry to promote economic cooperation. On this occasion, the BOI and Mie Prefecture signed an agreement to adjust the aforementioned frameworks towards the emphasis of the 10 targeted industries of Thailand which Mie Prefecture has capabilities in 2 of those, namely, agricultural innovation and electronics. The Deputy Prime Minister invited Mie Prefecture to cooperate with Thailand in order to establish an innovation center regarding both fields which is expected to officially open in November when the Governor of Mie Prefecture visit Thailand.
