On 23 October 2018, Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag presided over the wreath laying and religious ceremony on the occasion of King Chulalongkorn Memorial Day at Nittaiji Temple in Nagoya city, Aichi Prefecture. There were more than 40 people including the Thai officers and Thai citizen in Japan participate in the ceremony.
The Nittaiji Temple is one of the symbols of Japan-Thailand long friendship. It was established in 1904 to enshrine the holy remains of the Buddha which was donated to Japan by King Chulalongkorn. In 1987, the statue of King Chulongkorn was built in front of the Dhamma Hall within the Temple in remembrance of his contributions.
