The Ambassador led Team Thailand to Yamagata

On 4- 6 November 2018, Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag led Team Thailand in Tokyo to visit Yamagata prefecture according to the invitation of Mr. Masashi Ueno, President of the Shonai Bank to attend the reception party for the Yamagata – Thailand establishment celebration. The Yamagata-Thailand Friendship Association was established after Ambassador Bansarn visited Yamagata prefecture between 29 -30 November 2017 and it aimed to enhance the cooperation between Thailand and Yamagata in every dimension.
On this trip, the Ambassador met with Yamagata Governor, Council members as well as a lot of the leading businessmen in Yamagata who participated in this event. In addition, the Ambassador presided over the seminar of Thailand tourism that cooperates with Yamagata to promote the exchanges between the people of both sides. So far, the Judo Association of Thailand cooperated with Yamagata prefecture for being the host town for Thai sport players for Tokyo Olympic and Paralympics Games 2020 and Yamagata was also the shooting location for Thai drama “Dang Duangharuethai” by Channel 3.
The Ambassador and the delegation visited the high technology and innovation center of Yamagata prefecture such as Bioscience Park in Tsuruoka and met with the business owners in Yamagata who will invest in biotechnology textile manufacturing in Thailand according to the Thailand government policy, Thailand 4.0. Moreover, The Ambassador visited the Yamagata university where is famous for technology for treating cancer by using heavy ion that is the latest technology in Japan. The Ambassador used this opportunity to introduce the investment in Thailand to the Japanese private sectors and showed the readiness to cooperate with Yamagata prefecture that has potential to develop the Thailand’s investment in full function.
