The Ambassador visited Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture

On 7 June 2019, Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag visited Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture. On this occasion, Ambassador met with Mr. Yoshihiro Murai, Governor of Miyagi Prefecture and Mr. Koki Sato, Miyagi’s President of the House of Representatives. They discussed the cooperation to encourage the Thai - Miyagi relations in many aspects. After that, the Ambassador presided over the establishment ceremony of the Association of Thai-Sendai Economics Friendship, together with Mrs. Kazuko Kohri, Mayor of Sendai City.

The work plan of the association, which also organized the Thai Festival in Sendai in every year, was reported to the Ambassador and Mayor. The Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand Office and the Thai Airways Regional Director also attended the ceremony. By the way, the Thai Airways will launch direct flight from Sendai to Bangkok, 3 times a week, starting on 30 October 2019. On the evening, the Ambassador met with the students in Sendai City and asked about their lives in Sendai also gave advice about living in Japan, and how to handle in case of natural disaster.
