Fashion show and Exhibition “Thai Textile : A Touch of Thai in Tokyo”

On 19 August 2019, Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag co-hosted the Fashion Show and Exhibition “Thai Textile: A Touch of Thai in Tokyo” at Tokyo National Museum. The event was presided over by H.E. Ittiphol Kumplome, Minister of Culture of Thailand, and was a co-initiative of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand to honour Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, of her dedication in developing the quality of Thai Textile to global level.
The event was comprised of two elements: (1) an exhibition about Her Majesty the Queen Mother’s works on the promotion of Thai Textile, the innovation of Thai fabrics, especially the integration of medical attribution and anti-bacteria materials, as well as the use of interaction technology to communicate with the audiences; (2) a fashion show of sporty style of contemporary clothes using Thai fabric, in which Mr. Prapakas, the representative of young designers from Thailand participated as a stylist, and Miss Yuumi Kato, Miss Japan Universe 2018 walked the ramp as the showstopper.
In relation to the Fashion Show and Exhibition, there were also a Thai music performance incorporated traditional woodwind, string, and percussion instruments with electronic music, as well as a Thai food reception to entertain our Japanese guests through the special evening.
