Mie Governor pays a courtesy call on the Ambassador.


On 18 August 2020, Mr. SUZUKI Eikei, Governor of Mie Prefecture, together with his delegation and Mr. Noritada Mitsubayashi, the President and CEO of Yamamori Inc. – one of the key private companies operating in Mie, paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Singtong Lapisatepun, and had lunch at the Ambassador’s Residence.

 The meeting is joined by officials from the economic agencies of the Team Thailand in Tokyo. Ambassador Singtong expressed his appreciation for the Governor’s accomplished efforts in supporting the establishment of the Mie - Thailand Innovation Centre at the National Food Institute in Thailand, which enhances cooperation between Thailand and Mie on innovative product development. The Ambassador also commended the Governor's capable administration in curbing the COVID-19 infection in the prefecture.

Governor SUZUKI emphasized the importance of Thailand as Mie’s economic partner and expressed his readiness to support the private sector from Mie Prefecture to invest more in Thailand. He also hoped that both countries would be able to resume exchange of people and further strengthen bilateral relations in trade, investment and tourism when the COVID-19 situation resolves.
