Ambassador joined Webinar with Japan-Thailand Economic Cooperation Society (JTECS)

On 6 November 2020, the Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo and the Office of Industrial Affairs in Tokyo, in collaboration with Japan-Thailand Economic Cooperation Society (JTECS) and Professor Dr. SUKEGAWA Seiya from Kokushikan University held a webinar conference on "EEC Policy and Thailand 4.0 after the Cabinet Reshuffle". There were more than 350 people attended.
On this occasion, H.E. Ambassador Singtong Lapisatepun gave the opening remarks. He reiterated the partnership between Thailand and Japan in all dimensions and also emphasized that Thailand aimed to strike a balance between COVID-19 prevention and economic recovery.
Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkaew, Special Advisor to the Eastern Economic Corridor Policy Committee, explicated the development of several projects in the Eastern Economic Corridor Special Development Zone such as U-Tapao Airport, Map Ta Phut Deep Sea Port and Laem Chabang Deep Sea Port. He highlighted the continuity of operations of the EEC, which has its own law and regulations and well coordinate with other relevant authorities.
Ms. Noppamart Chuainukool, Director of Division of Macro Industrial Policy, Office of Industrial Economics, Ministry of Industry of Thailand, gave a briefing on the progress and action plan of the Cabinet-approved “Targeted Industrial Policy” which comprised of 4 sectors, i.e. electric automobile industry, robotics and automation, biological industry, and food processing industry.
