Ambassador gave a special lecture on "Interpretation Techniques" for Tokyo University of Foreign Studies

On 3 December 2020, Ambassador Singtong Lapisatepun gave a special online lecture on “Interpretation techniques” to the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. More than 20 students and members of the Faculty attended this online event.

The Ambassador introduced his own 5S technique to be a good interpreter, namely study, skills, stay conscious, stay healthy and stay truthful. He also shared his experiences as an interpreter for high-level representatives and recommended useful solutions for solving immediate problems during the interpretation duties.

During the Q&A session, both Japanese and Thai students asked interesting questions to learn more on how to become a good interpreter, which promoted student-faculty interchange in the session. The Embassy highly hopes that the participating students will be able to apply the techniques provided by this online lecture in their future work and to take part in promoting close and friendly relations between Thailand and Japan.
