Regulations on entering Thailand for non-Thai nationals from 22 December 2021 onwards

■ Status as of 21 December 2021

Thailand Pass will be closed for all new Test and Go and Sandbox applications (except Phuket Sandbox), starting from 00.00 hrs. on 22 December 2021 until further notice.

New measures apply for all applicants on Thailand Pass, as follows;

1. Applicants who have received their Thailand Pass QR Code can enter Thailand under the scheme they have registered.

2. Applicants who have registered, but have not received their QR Code must wait for their Thailand Pass to be considered / approved. Once approved, they can enter Thailand under the scheme they have registered.

3. New applicants will not be able to register for Test and Go and Sandbox measures (except Phuket Sandbox). Thailand Pass will only accept new applicants seeking to enter Thailand under Alternative Quarantine (AQ) or Phuket Sandbox only.

4. Passengers who will arrive in Thailand under Test and Go and Sandbox Programme must undergo their 2nd COVID-19 test using the RT-PCR technique (not ATK self-test) at government-designated facilities (no additional cost).

Registration system “Thailand Pass”

** From 11 November 2021 onwards, Travelers who enter Thailand must register with the Thailand Pass (https://tp.consular.go.th) at least 7 days in advance of departure date. Thailand Pass QR Code would be issued to the applicant after approval. Travelers need to present this QR Code to Airlines upon check-in and to Thai Border Control Officials.
**Currently (status as of December 1, 2021), Japan is on the list of countries that are eligible for the Exemption from Quarantine scheme. Travelers who have resided in Japan and/or any countries on the list for at least 21 days prior to travel, and being fully vaccinated at least 14 days before departure, would be eligible to travel to Thailand with no quarantine (still being required to book a one-night SHA+ or Alternative Quarantine (AQ) hotel pending the Covid-19 RT-PCR test result. If the result is negative, travelers are free to travel across Thailand)

** Those who are unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated, need to quarantine for 10 days at AQ/SHA+ hotel after arriving in Thailand.


Regulations for travelers under the age of 18 who are willing to enter Thailand under the Exemption from Quarantine scheme and Sandbox scheme

** Children under the age of 6 are not required to get vaccinated, also presenting the RT-PCR test result is unnecessary. However, those children need to travel with their parents or guardians, then undergo the saliva testing for Covid-19 upon arrival in Thailand.
** Children between the age of 6 - 11 are not required to get vaccinated. However, those children need to travel with their parents or guardians. Presenting the RT-PCR test result within 72 hours before departure is necessary.
** Children between the age of 12 - 17 are required to get vaccinated at least 1 dose. If those children are unvaccinated, they need to travel with their parents or guardians. Presenting the RT-PCR test result within 72 hours before departure is necessary.

Regulations for travelers who have previously been infected with Covid-19 and willing to enter Thailand under the Exemption from Quarantine scheme and Sandbox scheme

**Travelers who had been infected with COVID-19 within 3 months before entering Thailand are able to use the COVID-19 recovery form or a medical certificate certifying that the patient has already recovered from COVID-19 or no symptoms. In this category, presenting the RT-PCR test result is unnecessary
**Travelers who had been infected with COVID-19 for more than 3 months before entering Thailand must receive at least one dose of vaccination at any time after being infected with COVID-19.
**Travelers who were fully vaccinated prior to COVID-19 infection are considered as fully vaccinated.

**Those who are not residing in Japan and/or arriving from non-eligible countries for Exemption from Quarantine within 21 days prior to travel to Thailand but have been fully vaccinated, are able to apply for entering Thailand under the Sandbox program. Those travelers must stay in the sandbox area for at least 7 days.
