On 20 November 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy organised a “The Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum Clean-up” volunteer activity to commemoration the 100th Anniversary of the Passing of His Majesty King Vajiravudh on 25 November 2025, and the 100th Birthday Anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Bejaratana Rajasuda Sirisobhabannavadi on 24 November 2025.
H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, led approximately 30 volunteers, comprising officials and staff of the Royal Thai Embassy and Team Thailand and their spouses, to collect fallen leaves and waste, and remove dirt and dust to beautify the areas around the Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum. The activity attracted attention from museum visitors and the nearby community who expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the volunteers who helped to clean and beautify the area, creating a good environment for the community.
The main building of the Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum is in Art Deco style and was once used as the Imperial guests’ residence where His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit (at that time) stayed during their Royal Visit to Japan on 27 May - 5 June 1963. The property comprising the main building and the ground where regular and Japanese gardens are located is designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan.
