ANNOUCEMENT

From 1 December 2012, the Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo will introduce the Visa Appointment Booking Online (VABO) to facilitate the visa application for those who wish to travel to Thailand.

With VABO in effect from 1 December 2012, the Royal Thai Embassy will only accept visa application on an appointment basis from general applicants with no walk-ins permitted. This service does not apply to applicants for diplomatic and official visas. Applicants must schedule visa appointment online in order to submit applications for visas. Applicants can book appointments at their conveniences up to 30 days in advance.

VABO does not imply that the visa application is accepted. It is developed to facilitate the visa application process and avoid long queue at the Visa Section.

From 1 November 2012, the Royal Thai Embassy will start accepting VABO. To schedule your visa appointment, please visit vabo.thaiembassy.jp and select Visa Appointment Booking Online (VABO).

**Applicants holding diplomatic and official passports are not required to schedule online booking and may directly contact visa application counters at the Visa Section without taking queue cards.
