The 68th Birthday Celebration for Thai Elephant “Hanako” at Inokashira Park Zoo

On 1 February 2015, Minister Counsellor Mr.Nattapong Lathapipat and his spouse attended the 68th birthday anniversary of the Thai elephant “Hanako” at Inokashira Park Zoo in Tokyo. Hanako was given by Thailand to Japan in 1949 and is now the oldest elephant nurtured by a zoo in Japan. Minister Counsellor said that Hanako is indeed an a goodwill ambassador for Thailand and Japan....

... Daira Zoo visited the Royal Thai Embassy and were welcomed by Mrs. Salinee Phonprapai, Minister Counsellor. Deputy Mayor reported the outcome when they went to Thailand in January 2019 to discuss with the related organizations about receiving Asian elephant to Nihon Daira Zoo. On this occasion, Minister Counsellor Salinee said that the Royal Thai Embassy will fully support Shizuoka City to receive Thai elephant to Japan in accordance with laws.
