2022年8月5日、シントン・ラーピセートパン大使と大使夫人は秋田県大館市を訪問しました。その際、福原淳嗣大館市長を表敬訪問しました。東京2020パラリンピック競技大会におけるボッチャタイ代表選手のホストタウンとしてご協力を頂いたため、今後のスポーツ、教育、観光の協力強化、またその他の民間レベルの協力について会談しました。
