On 4 August 2021, representatives of the Royal Thai Embassy in Japan participated in “OMOTENASHI” Cooking Legacy Project. This online food-tasting event was jointly organised by the Headquarters for the Promotion of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games under the Office of the Prime Minister of Japan, Happo-en Tokyo Restaurant, and Host Town authorities.

Thailand and Kanoya city have good cooperation especially in sports. Previously, Kanoya was the host town for Thai volleyball national team to participate in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and after.
