2013.10.29 Ambassador hosted dinner for Thai-Japanese exchange students

... 1-month-exchange program is under the Global 30 Project under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan, which aims to promote 300,000 international students to study in Japan. Meiji University is among the 13 universities selected by the Japanese Government to participate in the Global 30 program.  The exchange program between Meiji University and Thai universities marked the fourth term of their cooperation since its launch in 2010.  Today, the number of international students at Meiji University has doubled to 1,200 comparing to the number in 2009.

2013.03.25 Thai youth received 43rd International Children’s Art Exhibition Award

... Children’s Art Exhibition. The event was organized by Biiku Bunka Kyokai (The Foundation of Art Education in Japan). Out of 38,139 art pieces from 38 countries nominated for the Ministry’s awards, Kittipat’s “Green Earth” was among the ten selected pieces. The award ceremony was held at Tokyo National Museum on 25 March 2013. Miss Pakvipa Ahviphan, First Secretary, represented Kittipat in receiving the award, which will be directly delivered to him later.

2013.01.27-28 Thai student won the prize from MOA Children’s Art Exhibition

The contest in Thailand was held in cooperation with Rangsit Science Centre for Education and the MOA Thai Foundation. Lapisatepun, Charge d’affaires’s spouse, joined and delivered the opening speech at the 4th Thai Carving Contest at Sumida Sangyo Kaikan.  The contest was organized by the Japan Thai Carving Association, which invited Mr. Jamnong Nirungsan, Chairman of Thai Chef’s Association, and Chef Chart Kunsri from Shangri-la Hotel, to join the selection panel. The selection was judged by skills and beauty of the carved objects. Twenty-five soap carving and thirty-seven fruit carving candidates participated in the contest this year.

On 1 October 2011, Mme Aumaporn Futrakul, Ambassor’s spouse, attended the 3rd Thai Carving Contest at Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Trade Center, Hamamatsucho, organized by Japan Thai Carving Association. She made the opening speech and joined the soap carving selection panel, in which 40 pieces of carved soap were nominated for prizes.
