開会式には名誉総裁をお務めになる高円宮妃殿下がご出席され、お言葉を述べられました。
「にっぽんー大使たちの視線」写真展には、在日各国大使館の外交官や家族による作品が出展されており、第一回は1998年に高円宮殿下ご臨席を賜り開催されました。外交官の日本に寄せる思いを共有し国際文化交流を図るとともに、外交官と日本国民との親密な友好関係を築き上げるという趣旨で開催されています。
