タイは、メコン地域連結をさらに進めて行くという目的のために、様々な面で友好的な協力をしてきた開発パートナーの日本と深くかかわってきました。こうした様々な面での協力により、地域の安定、平和、経済と社会発展、そして国民の誰一人取り残されることのない暮らしを築いていけるようになりました。
ここで、首相は、メコン・日本協力のための東京戦略2018(Tokyo Strategy 2018 for Mekong – Japan Cooperation)において意見を述べました。今回の会議での確認事項の報告書となります。第１に、新東京戦略2018は、地域と世界情勢の変化を踏まえ、次の３つの協力方針を確認しました。（１）自由で開かれたインド太平洋戦略(Free ... ... Development Goals) （３）エーヤーワデ. ィ・チャオプラヤ・メコン経済協力戦略マスタープラン（ACMECS）5年間の実施（2019-2023）第２に、ACMECSマスタープランの実施はこの新戦略の1つの指針になっており、国際会議の報告書に初めてマスタープランが明記されました。マスタープラン草案者でもある加盟国のタイは、ACMECSとの地域内の協力関係をACMECSでの協力を通して様々な面で連結されるようこれからも引き続き力を注いでいきます。
