次期大使が信任状の写しを外務事務次官に提出
2024年2月13日、ウィッチュ・ウェチャーチーワ大使は外務省にて島田丈裕儀典長に出迎えられ、岡野正敬外務事務次官を表敬訪問し、次期大使としての任務に就くために信任状の写しを提出しました。両者は、長年にわたる緊密な関係をさらなる地域や国際レベルでの国際情勢における新たな動きに対応すべきだと話し合いました。これに関連して、大使は（1）世界の新しい分野、特にクリーンエネルギー産業、デジタル技術、そして環境に結び付くビジネスなどにおける貿易や投資の拡大（2）人材育成を通じた結びの強化と持続可能な発展の強みの交換（3）地域及び世界規模の開発問題に関する意見交換の促進の3項目を強調しました。
ウィッチュ・ウェチャーチーワ大使が天皇陛下に信任状を捧呈
2024年6月6日、皇居にて執り行われた式典で、ウィッチュ・ウェチャーチーワ大使は、駐日タイ王国特命全権大使任命の信任状を天皇陛下に捧呈しました。同式典には、タイ王国大使館外交官やタイ王国各関連事務所長6名が出席した他、鈴木俊一財務大臣兼金融担当大臣が侍立しました。天皇陛下は、ワチラロンコン国王陛下へのご祝辞を述べられ、その後、両国がこれまで築いてきた親密な関係についてもお話しになりました。陛下はまた、プミポン・アドゥンヤデート前国王陛下の主導による王室プロジェクトについて、特に水管理と環境保全の取り組みを賞賛されました。そして、今後もこの取り組みが後世に受け継がれ、維持・発展されていくことで、今日の世界において非常に困難な課題である気候変動の影響を緩和するため重要な役割を果たしていくことに感銘を受けておられました。
