On 22 January, 2016, H.E. Mr. Bansarn Bunnag paid a visit to Mr. Kaoru Shimazaki, the Chief of Protocol and presented copy of Letter Credence to Mr. Akitaka Saiki, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. The Ambassador has an agenda to present the Letter of Credence to the Emperor of Japan later in order to appoint him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary later.

On 31 October 2019, Ambassador Singtong Lapisatepun and his spouse, Mrs. Porndee Lapisatepun arrived in Tokyo and were welcomed by H.E. Mr. Eiichi Kawahara, Ambassador and the Special Advisor of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan. After that, Ambassador Singtong met with H.E. Mr. Kiminori Iwama, Chief of Protocol, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan to present the copy of his letter of Credence to His Majesty the Emperor of Japan and assumed his duties as Ambassador-designate of the Kingdom of Thailand to Japan.
