President of Sumitomo Forestry paid a courtesy call on Ambassador
... Sumitomo Forestry, and his delegation, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan. Both sides exchanged views on the company's business and investment in Thailand. In particular, the Ambassador was impressed with Sumitomo Forestry’s advanced technology which involves comprehensive construction activities with the utilization of wooden materials. The Ambassador also advised that the company’s decarbonization strategy is in line with Thailand’s policy and, therefore, the company could be entitled to receive investment incentives from the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI).

2024年4月3日、住友林業㈱光吉敏郎代表取締役執行役員社長一行が、ウィッチュ・ウェチャーチーワ次期大使を表敬訪問しました。両者は住友林業㈱のビジネス及びタイにおける投資に関して協議しました。次期大使が、会社の一貫した建築技術に賛辞を贈り、住友林業㈱の脱炭素に沿った事業戦略は、タイでの事業拡大の可能性があるとしました。住友林業㈱はタイ投資委員会(BOI)から投資奨励を申請することができます。
住友商事㈱常務執行役員が大使を訪問
2024年7月2日、住友商事㈱の住田 孝之常務執行役員一行が、ウィッチュ・ウェチャーチーワ大使を表敬訪問し、住田常務執行役員は住友商事㈱の事業を説明し、タイとの協力に関して協議しました。両者は、将来のタイ経済の持続的開発に向けて、タイの民間企業の環境に優しい製造プロセスの改善と二酸化炭素の削減に関する日本の支援について意見交換しました。
