2024年4月2日、三菱商事㈱の近藤 恭哉執行役員、いすゞ事業本部長一行が、ウィッチュ・ウェチャーチーワ次期大使を訪問し、両者は未来の自動車開発に関して会談しました。三菱商事㈱はこの3月にタイで生産されたBEVピックアップ車を発表しました。また、バイオ燃料と合成燃料の研究におけるタイ石油公社（PTT）との協力である代替エネルギー関連の協力は、タイの豊富な農業資源を無公害車のクリーンエネルギーへの活用の可能性に繋がるものです。次期大使は、三菱商事㈱のビジネスを拡大するため、タイの研究機関によるクリーンエネルギー開発に関する研究成果を検討するようアドバイスしました。
