On 27 July 2011, Ambassador Virasakdi Futrakul attended the 13th Japan International Seafood & Technology Expo Tokyoat Tokyo Big Sight, where Thailand’s Office of Agricultural Affairs in Japan held a booth. Mr. Chalermporn Phirunsarn, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, also joined the booth opening.

He has had a long foreign service career and served as the Thai Ambassador to countries including Myanmar, Canada, UN Mission in Geneva, and the United States. Prior to assuming his duty in Japan, he was the Permanent-Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.
