Ambassador received a courtesy call by the Vice Governor of Tokushima
On 8 September 2023, Mr. ITO Daisuke, Vice Governor of Tokushima Prefecture, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, to seek support for the export of Sudachi to Thailand. Sudachi is a kind of citrus fruit similar to lime and is a famous fruit of Tokushima. The main targeted customers are Japanese restaurants in Thailand, which are over 5,000 in number.

The Ambassador and the delegation also exchanged opinions on Aomori Prefecture’s trade promotion activity in Thailand, travel measures and people-to-people relations which help facilitate the expansion of Aomori apple export to Thailand, as well as Thai tropical fruit export to Japan. Thailand is the third largest market, after Taiwan and Hong Kong, for exporting of Aomori apples, with a total of 753 tons in 2020.
