On 31 August 2011, Mr. Shozaburo Jimi, State Minister for Postal Reform and Financial Services, paid a courtesy visit to Ambassador Virasakidi Futrakul. The purpose of the visit was to invite Bangkok and Chiang Mai Governors to attend the Asian Environmental Cities Summit during 11-12 October 2011 in Kita Kyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
