2021年7月25日、タイのピパット・ラチャキットプラカーン観光・スポーツ大臣は、国際オリンピック委員会（IOC）のトーマス・バッハ会長と面談し、去る7月23日に東京2020オリンピック開会式が成功裏に行われたことを歓迎すると共に、今大会が滞りなく開催されることを祈願しました。 この面談は東京のホテルオークラで行われ、シントン・ラーピセートパン大使とクンインパッタパー・リーサワットトラクーンIOC委員が同席しました。クンインパッタマーは、世界バドミントン連盟副会長、そしてタイバドミントン協会長も務めています。
