　2023年6月9日、シントン・ラーピセートパン大使は「仙台タイ経済友好協会総会」及び「第11回タイフェスティバルin仙台」出席のために宮城県仙台市を訪問した際に、仙台在住のタイ人留学生や大学教授18名との昼食会をタイ料理レストランCHADAで開催しました。 　仙台のタイ人留学生グループは在日タイ人留学生協会に所属しており、短期交換留学生、長期の留学生や研究者を含みます。常にお互いに協力しあう関係を築き、タイを紹介するイベントのために集まることもあります。グループのリーダーは、災害時や非常時に重要な連絡センターの役割を果たしており、大使館が下記地域のタイ人と迅速人連絡を取る際にも支援をしています。
